Occult Xenosystems

While the following article was written some years before Mr Myatt published his perceptive translations of and commentary on various tracts of the Corpus Hermeticum {1} it nonetheless deserves reproducing here since it provides an insight into how one insightful individual perceived the Order Of Nine Angles.

“The swirling delirium at the new /pol/ is at least 80% noise, but it includes some real intelligence (in both senses of the word), and not solely of a comedic variety. The sheer dirtiness of its signal makes it a powerful antenna, picking up on connections and information sources that tidier discussions would dismiss as pollution. This makes it especially suited to conspiracy theorizing, both inane and exotic.

While noting the importance of correction for narcissistic bias, which operates through selective attention, memorization, and (from commentators here) communication, it seems as if this blog is referenced disproportionately by the most extravagant NRx-sensitive /pol/ conspiracists. That is quite understandable. Occult philosophy, secrecy, crypsis, codes, and obscurity are insistent themes here. Xenosystems is inclined towards arcane cultural games. It identifies cryptographic developments as keys to the emerging order of the world.

The primary philosophical task of this blog is to disturb unwarranted pretensions to knowing, in the name of a Pyrrhonian inspiration. In this regard, confusion, paradox, and uncertainty are communicative outcomes to be ardently embraced.

For the purposes of this post, an exceptionally exotic /pol/ suggestion provides the opportunity to make a comparatively compact and simple point. The occasion is a web of conjecture weaving together Xenosystems and The Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA, or omega9alpha). In addition to the (highly-recommended) link just provided, the relevant Wikipedia entry is also extremely stimulating.

Xenosystems micro-ethics is uncomfortable with soliciting belief (or invoking expectations of trust). It is necessary to note at this point, therefore, that the following remarks are not designed to appeal to credence, but merely to add testimonial information, to be accepted or rejected at will. In the world we now enter — of “sinister dialectic” — declarations of honesty are utterly debased. However, for what (little) it is worth, these are the facts as I understand and relay them.

The O9A is not entirely new to me, but it is not a gnosis I have studied, still less deliberately aligned with. The few hours of reading I have undertaken today is by far my most intense exposure to it to date. What little I have learnt about David Myatt has not attracted me to him as a thinker or political activist, despite certain impressive characteristics (his intellect and polyglot classicism most notably). With that said:
(1) Many convergent interests are soon apparent between Outside in and the O9A (as well as a not inconsiderable number of divergences).
(2) ‘We’ are both (I think) inclined to dismiss the pretensions of the individual intellect and will, which makes the possibility of connections around the back impossible to dismiss in a peremptory fashion. As one /pol/ ‘anonymous’ remarked: “why so sure that ONA would be the deepest layer, instead of just a japeful ruse?” Real connections, influences, and metaphysical roots are obscure.
(3) O9A is fascinating.

The point of this post (finally) is taken directly from Aleister Crowley. In the compilation of his qabbalistic writings entitled 777 (Alphanomic equivalent of Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law, although that is surely coincidental), he makes some introductory remarks on the topic of hermeticism. My copy of the book is temporarily misplaced, so I shall gloss them here. A secret, of the kind relevant to hermeticism, is not something known and then hidden as a matter of decision, but rather something that by its very nature resists revelation. Crowley proceeds to mock charlatan occultists who treat the numerical values of the Hebrew letters as secret information, to be revealed theatrically at some appropriate stage of initiation. Let whatever can now be known, be known, as lucidly and publicly as possible. Only that is truly hermetic which hides itself. Reality is not so destitute of intrinsically hidden things — of Integral Obscurity — that we need to replenish its coffers with our tawdry discretion.

Whatever might exist, in the way of an occult bond between Outside in and the O9A, it is not one that anybody is keeping secret. To emphasize the point, I am going to include the alpha9omega document in the Resources roll here, not as the acknowledgement of a connection, but as a clear statement that this stuff is not a secret. It is, however, about secrecy — and that is interesting.”

This compilation of texts about the Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA) compliments the earlier compilation titled O9A: Truth And Propaganda. {1}

Both compilations are the response, from some of those who associate themselves with the O9A movement, to the propaganda, the lies, and the allegations made by a certain political advocacy group, and by others, and which group in March 2020 launched a campaign to get the O9A banned by the British government as a “terrorist group”. {2}

The texts in both compilations reveal the astonishing lack of knowledge about the O9A by that political advocacy group and by certain other journalists; a lack which is either deliberate – arising from hatred and prejudice – or arising because of a desire to spread propaganda about a declared enemy.

Unlike the anti-O9A propaganda spread by that political advocacy group and its minions, the articles and texts below give detailed references to O9A works and other sources.

Those who are seriously interested in studying the esoteric philosophy and praxis of the O9A should read the 300 page Seofonfeald Paeth trilogy, published in 2019 {3} and which trilogy provides an insight into the esoteric philosophy and praxis of the real O9A as opposed to the propaganda, the lies, and the allegations spread and made about the O9A by those with a certain political agenda and who have thus made the O9A into a kind of modern “Occult phantom menace.”

For this revised (May 3, 2020) edition we have added an additional appendix: Eleven Questions About The O9A.

The Anti-Fascist Campaign Against Mr Myatt

O9A Insight Role
O9A Insight Role

The anti-fascist campaign against David Myatt, the demonizing of Myatt, began in 1984 when Gerry Gable – of Jewish descent, a police informer, founder of the anti-fascist Searchlight organization and editor of the magazine of the same name – told the police that he had information that Mr Myatt was responsible for the murder of Hilda Murrell, an elderly and active campaigner for Nuclear Disarmament. {1}

As a result of receiving this information Detectives from Shrewsbury police interviewed Myatt twice. First at his home in Church Stretton, and then at his place of work, a large country house in South Shropshire where he was employed as a gardener. As a result of those interviews Myatt was eliminated from their inquiries.

Gable also informed Jenny Rathbone – a research assistant for ITV’s World in Action programme who were researching the murder of Hilda Murrell – about his suspicions regarding Myatt, as a result of which Jenny Rathbone interviewed Myatt and his then wife at their home in Church Stretton. Myatt – who at the time did not know the source of the allegations – denied any involvement, and, in the subsequent World in Action television programme about Hilda Murrell, Myatt was not mentioned.

Myatt was later to learn the source of the allegations and that they stemmed from the publication of his text Vindex, Destiny of the West in the January 1984 edition of George Dietz’s Liberty Bell magazine. {2} For Gable and his cohorts were outraged by Myatt’s defence of National Socialism and the Third Reich.

Despite this failure by Gable to have Myatt arrested and his failure to have Myatt smeared by the mainstream media, Gable continued to inform the police and the media about Myatt and his activities, culminating in 1998 when, having enlisted the help of Michael Whine – also of Jewish descent and then chairman of the influential Board of Deputies of British Jews – Detectives from SO12, Scotland Yard, {3} acting on the information received from Gable and Whine, conducted a dawn raid on Myatt’s home, then in a village near Malvern where he lived with his third wife and two children and worked on a nearby farm. The raid was named Operation Periphery.

The Detectives searched Myatt’s house for around seven hours, seized his computers and files, and arrested him on suspicion of incitement to murder and incitement to racial hatred, {4} and interviewed him at Malvern police station. Myatt was later released on bail, pending further inquires, with one of his bail conditions being that he attended Charing Cross police station in London on a regular basis. {5}

However, the fact that Myatt, in 1998, was on bail charged with various and serious criminal offences did not deter Gable and his cohorts from publishing a special edition of Searchlight magazine in April 1998 under the headline The Most Evil Nazi in Britain. {6} It seems they were most annoyed at Myatt founding and leading the National-Socialist Movement which consisted of the hundred or so members of Combat 18 still loyal to Charlie Sargent, the founder of Combat 18.

In their hatred of Myatt, the anti-fascist Searchlight crowd – which at the time included Myatt-baiter Nick Lowles – made, in that edition of their Searchlight magazine, scurrilous allegations about Myatt and about his alleged involvement with the Order of Nine Angles without providing anything probative – any evidence – for their allegations.

Their campaign against Myatt continued, resulting in articles about Myatt in their July 2000 special edition of Searchlight devoted to the London “nail-bomber” David Copeland, and in which edition of their magazine Myatt was described as a “theoretician of terror” with Searchlight repeating their unproven and malicious allegations about Myatt being involved with Satanism.

The Searchlight campaign against Myatt resulted in him being interviewed by a reporter and film-crew from the BBC television programme Panorama who were making a “documentary” about David Copeland. An extract from that interview was included in the broadcast programme. {7} Unsurprisingly, the Myatt-baiter, and fanatical anti-fascist, Nick Lowles was an assistant producer of that television programme.

Following the semi-retirement of Gerry Gable from Searchlight due to ill-health, and the departure from Searchlight of Nick Lowles (due to him, so we are informed, trying to bribe Sonia Gable, wife of Gerry Gable) and then the rise of Lowles as an anti-fascist media pundit – aided by the influential billionaire George Soros, also of Jewish descent – the campaign against Myatt was dormant for many years as Myatt-baiter Nick Lowles concentrated on consolidating his position as Britain’s leading “authority” on modern British fascism, creating his so-called “Hope Not Hate” organization in the process.

Then in 2019, with his media-position and that of his so-called “Hope Not Hate” organization secured as “authorities” on modern British fascism, Lowles returned to his Myatt-baiting, writing a 2019 article about the Order of Nine Angles and an article about Myatt which were strewn with errors and replete with unproven allegations. {8} He even claimed to have interviewed Myatt in 2001 when in fact the interview took place in 1998, as attested by both the July 2000 edition of Searchlight magazine and by Myatt himself. {9} It was most pleasing to the Myatt-baiting Lowles that the mainstream media in Britain – such as The Daily Telegraph, The Sun, The Guardian – reproduced his allegations about Myatt and the Order of Nine Angles verbatim and did not bother to have their journalists investigate the facts.

However, not content with this, the Myatt-baiting Lowles – financed as he still was by the influential billionaire George Soros, and employing as he did and does The Big Lie technique – repeated his malicious and unproven allegations about Myatt again not only in a “Hope Not Hate” report published in 2020 but also in various internet “podcasts”. {10}

Despite being challenged to provide actual evidence for his allegations {11} he has failed to do so. Meanwhile, others – such as journalists Jake Hanrahan and the BBC’s Daniel De Simone {12} – have accepted without question what the Myatt-baiting Lowles has written and said. Which of itself goes to prove just how effective The Big Lie technique is in our modern times.

All of which raises the question of just why Mr Myatt – from 1984 to the present – has been the subject of anti-fascist, and of Jewish, hatred and propaganda.

Is what Myatt wrote during his neo-nazi years (1968-1998) so dangerous to the current Magian status quo? {13}{2} Is his recent – post-2011 – pagan philosophy of pathei-mathos also so dangerous to the current Magian status quo? {14}

If so, that would explain such a hateful and long-lasting campaign to discredit him.

O9A Rising: Part Two

Order Of Nine Angles

Fake News About The O9A:
One More Example Among Many

We know how many people – especially journalists and anti-fascists – do not like to have their allegations and personal opinions about the O9A and about Myatt challenged in public.

In a recent example, someone posted a reply to journalist Jake Hanrahan via his “twitter” social media account questioning his assumptions about Myatt being Anton Long. The person was immediately blocked by Hanrahan from posting further replies and the reply was deleted. {1}

In his recent “podcast” about the O9A, and via his “twitter” social media account, Hanrahan makes assumptions and allegations about the O9A and about Myatt, and propagates the assumptions and allegations of others, but does not provide any actual evidence from primary sources, nothing probative, to support his and their assumptions and allegations.

He claims to have researched the “neo-nazi” O9A for years and yet does not seem to know what the O9A actually is – an Occult subculture, not a group with “members” – and does not seen to know that the O9A regard National Socialism as just one useful learning experience for some of those in the beginning of their decades long Occult quest. {2}

He also has no response to the O9A rebuttals of the “fake news” pedaled by the “Hate Not Hope” group {3} and by the anonymous author of an article on the Quietus website. {4}

He claims that Myatt=Long yet appears not to have read Myatt’s books about rejecting extremism {5} and has made no comment on Myatt’s compassionate philosophy of pathei-mathos. {6} If he has read them, does he believe – along with those at the “Hate Not Hope” group – that Myatt’s rejection of extremism and his philosophy of pathei-mathos are fakery, the works of some master Trickster? If so, what has he that is probative to support such a belief? Apparently nothing. He has only assumptions, hearsay, rumours, and his own personal opinion based, it seems, on a lack of knowledge of what the O9A actually is.

It thus seems that he is either someone arrogantly sure that their opinion is right or that he – like the “Hate Not Hope” group – is employing the Big Lie technique where a lie – or several lies – is or are repeated so often by so many and by various means that a large proportion of people accept the lie or lies as fact even though nothing probative – no evidence based on primary sources – is ever presented. {7}{8}

Therefore we challenge this journalist to debate with us via an e-mail account known to the author of the Quietus article and to the TV company Expectation Factual who were planning a documentary about David Copeland in which they would make mention of Myatt.

If Hanrahan does manage to find – as an investigative journalist should – that e-mail address and correspond with us then we shall publish, in full, his messages and our replies.

If he deigns not to correspond with us then we, and the Occult cognoscenti, will draw two logical conclusions.

O9A Rising

O9A Rising

Order Of Nine Angles Sigil

It seems that “journalist for hire” Jake Hanrahan and BBC journalist Daniel De Simone have jumped on the anti-O9A bandwagon with over an hour long Apple podcast about the O9A titled O9A Rising: The Spread of Britain’s Occultist Militant Group. The podcast is also now available on SoundCloud.

The podcast includes the usual references to David Myatt being “Anton Long”, and like The Poison Dwarf – of Hate Not Hope infamy – Daniel De Simone commits the logical fallacy of argumentum ad verecundiam. That is, because some academics have claimed that Myatt=Long it must be true. He, of course, forgets to mention the academics who do not believe that Myatt=Long.

What is interesting is that the O9A is, according to Hanrahan and De Simone, now regarded as influential especially among young neo-nazis with the old joke – among Levey-loving “satanists” – about the O9A having “no members” discredited.

The gist is that, according to Daniel De Simone, the O9A is about “real evil,” about disrupting our society and bringing “dark forces to Earth”. Which rather reminds me of the Harry Potter saga…

Having declaimed that the O9A is about real evil and about presencing dark forces Daniel De Simone goes on to claim that this is all fantasy on behalf of the O9A, that the O9A is not influential. Thus contradicting his earlier remarks about how the O9A is and had been influential among many young neo-nazis and has even infiltrated mainstream Nazarene groups.

If this is all fantasy and the O9A is not influential then why spend well over an hour discussing and pontificating about the O9A? If this is all fantasy why did The Poison Dwarf present a petition to the UK government – signed by several Members of Parliament – to have the O9A banned as a terrorist organization? Also, Daniel De Simone goes on to mention that there “may be crimes committed by people involved with this group” – the O9A – thus contradicting himself again, and that given recent terrorism convictions involving young neo-nazis he now takes the O9A seriously.

Which recalls to mind a 1969 song by the group King Crimson titled “21st century schizoid man”.

Daniel De Simone goes to relate the lie – the propaganda – that the O9A encourages pedophilia when even a cursory examination of O9A material would suffice to reveal that the O9A does not and never has encouraged such sub-human, such mundane, proclivities. {1}{2}

He also goes on to commit the fallacy of secundum quid et simpliciter. Generalizing from a particular instance. But there is yet more. Over another half-hour of anti-O9A propaganda. Their contradictory conclusion? That the O9A is small, yet influential.

Suffice to write that the whole podcast is a propaganda triumph for the O9A.

Some Questions About The O9A

Order Of Nine Angles Sigil

Questions About The O9A, 2020 ev

The replies about O9A esotericism and praxises were to questions asked of us in April 2020 ev by a person who had, according to our knowledge, associated themselves with the Occult O9A movement for several years and who had published several books about the O9A and their own involvement.

A Satanic View Of The Covid-19 Pandemic

Order Of Nine Angles Sigil

Before I begin my “sinister polemic”, a necessary disclaimer. I follow the Occult movement – the sub-culture – that is termed the Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA). {1} This implies two things. First, that “my” Satanism is the Traditional Satanism of the O9A, which differs substantially from the modern “satanism” propagated by Howard Stanton Levey, better known as Anton LaVey. {2} Second, given the O9A principle of the authority of individual judgment {3} my views do not represent those of the O9A sub-culture, for no individual views can represent an anarchic sub-culture. {4}

A Necessary Learning And A Necessary Dialectic

My Satanic view of the Covid-19 pandemic – commonly known as the Coronavirus pandemic – is that it is a natural cleansing of our human species; part of the sinister dialectic that evolves us as a species, {5} and which has the potential to change our societies and to lay bare how weak we as a species, and as individuals, are when confronted with one of the consequences of some of those powers, those forces, which have been historically described as Satanic and embodied in the archetype of Satan. Which Satan, according to the Traditional Satanism of the O9A, is different from and independent of that of both Judaism and Nasrany and considered by the O9A as an archetype of rebellion, revolution, dissent, heresy, defiance, and Chaos, from which Chaos a new order – new ways of living – can arise.

That is, the Covid-19 pandemic with the associated tyrannical measures introduced by Western governments – such as “lockdown”, “staying at home”, shutting down normal social life and social interactions, making gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together illegal, and the weedy message of “staying safe” – can be, should be, the catalyst for rebellion, revolution, dissent, and defiance. If it does not inspire such things, then what does that say about the majority of the peoples of the West?

It says that they are mundanes. That they are weak. That they have become tame, docile. And that thus they perhaps do not deserve to survive. Or if they do survive it says that they will deserve their fate: to always be mundanes, sheeple, plebs, ruled over and manipulated by vulgarians many of which vulgarians are Magian by nature or because they have aligned themselves to those whom they consider are on “the winning side” and who have been reward for their sycophantic service to those who are Magian by nature.

Meanwhile, the O9A sub-culture will continue with Phase Three of its sinister dialectic. Clandestine to begin with. Which phase is that of clandestine, personal, revolutionary, recruitment involving making others aware of our Satanism, of our archetypes such as Satan and our female Baphomet, {6} and of how certain Insight Roles may undermine the status quo and thus the power of the vulgarians and their hubriati. {7}

I make no apology for this – in my view – genuine Satanic perspective of the pandemic that is killing people. For my Satan – the Satan of the O9A – kills, is disruptive, embodies both Chaos and Evolution. He, like Baphomet his female consort and counterpart, is part of our natural evolution as a species, although this cosmic wisdom has for decades been obscured by the mundane so-called “satanism” of the pleb named Howard Stanton Levey.

{7} Hubriati are defined by the O9A as “that class of individuals, in the West, who have been and who are subsumed by the Magian ethos and the delusion of abstractions, and who occupy positions of influence and/or of power. Hubriati include politicians, Media magnates and their servants, military commanders, government officials, industrialists, bankers, many academics and teachers, and so on. Our Sinister Character

Order Of Nine Angles

Classic O9A Texts

Our Sinister Character

A Note On The Term Sinister

In v.3.07 of A Glossary of Order of Nine Angles Terms (published in 123 Year of Fayen) the term ‘sinister’ is defined exoterically as “Of or pertaining to our Dark Tradition, and thus to the five core principles of the ONA. Often used as a synonym for Left Hand Path.”

The five core principles or traditions are: (1) the way of practical deeds; (2) the way of culling; (3) the way of kindred honour; (4) the way of defiance of and practical opposition to Magian abstractions; (5) the way of the Rounwytha tradition.

Esoterically, the term ‘sinister’ refers to the four lower spheres of the septenary Tree of Wyrd – Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun – and thus, in terms of the O9A Seven Fold Way – to the stages and grades of Neophyte, Initiate, External Adept and Internal Adept, and expresses, presences, the ‘sinister’ aspect, the ‘sinister’ realm, of the ‘sinister-numinous’ way. Associated with this realm are archetypes (acausal beings) such as Satan and The Dark Gods, and the personal learning deriving from such Dark Arts as Insight Roles, Ceremonial Rituals, Sinister Cloaking, and Culling. In terms of ‘Causal Forms’ – abstractions, to be personally experienced – they are the realms of Night, Indulgence, Ecstasy, and Foreseeing.

In regard to understanding such terms as ‘the sinister’ – and in regard to understanding the O9A and its esotericism – what is often not known or forgotten is the distinction the O9A make and have made between ‘the esoteric meaning’ of something and the ‘exoteric meaning’.

As described in the aforementioned Glossary under the heading Exoteric/Esoteric,
               {quote} Exoteric refers to the outer (or causal) form, or meaning, or nature, or character, or appearance, of some-thing; while esoteric refers to its Occult/inner/acausal essence or nature. What is esoteric is that which is generally hidden from mundanes (intentionally or otherwise), or which mundanes cannot perceive or understand. Causal abstractions tend to hide the esoteric nature (character) of things, and/or such abstractions describe or refer to that-which is only causal and mundane and thus devoid of Dark-Empathy.

Thus, a form manufactured by an Adept for some Aeonic purpose – for example, a tactic to aid strategic aims – has an outer appearance and an outer meaning which is usually all that mundanes perceive or understand, even though it has an (inner) esoteric meaning. {/quote}

In regard to O9A texts – and in particular O9A polemics and propaganda – the failure to make a distinction between the exoteric and the esoteric meaning has led to many misunderstanding, and others to make assumptions about, the O9A and those involved with or associating themselves with the O9A. In part, such misunderstanding of, and the making of assumptions about, the O9A was intentional, part of the O9A’s Labyrinthos Mythologicus in an effort “to intrigue, select, test, confuse, annoy, mislead, or dissuade, others.”

As someone wrote, last year:
               {quote} For beginners, the O.N.A. is a total mystery and puzzle – and deliberately so. Try to google the material and you’ll find a truckload of it, but after two months of reading you’re more confused than from the onset. It takes years to get some manner of grip on it – which is obviously by intentional design, to test the seeker’s will and resolve. You’ll turn away pretty soon if you do not have this sinister flame burning inside. {/quote}

As someone else wrote:
               {quote} Such a confusion in great numbers is one of the stated purposes of the Labyrinthos Mythologicus, and it is what makes it inherently elitist at every level. That is to say, it is not elitist because it brags or because there is an authority denying entry, but because it asks from the practitioner a wide variety of abilities, at least in potential, and the willingness to develop them through hard work. Some of these are stated explicitly, and others are required by the sheer complexity or lack of explanations of certain things, which end up pushing the seriously interested practitioner to find ways, bridge gaps, interpret and discover his own unique way. Being unable to do so, either out of incompetence or mental intransigence, is to be culled by the design of the ONA, or to be culled out of the loop by one’s own mediocrity, incapacity or emotional blockage and blinding (often the case among clever occultists).

From its inception, the Seven-Fold Way was intended to see most fail, to see most crumble under pressure, by a reluctance to try again, by carelessness leading to mental or physical injury or destruction. It should be clear to any objective and intelligent student of the materials (not to speak to a practitioner, I presume) that personal discernment is the foremost of all ONA requirements, once a holistic and balanced view of its rather wide assortment of ideas throughout the decades has been at least partially digested. To even suggest that the failure of many (most?) ONA would-be initiates is a sign of failure of the system, or to suppose that the bickering between ONA-inspired/derived groups implies an alarming state of affairs threatening to take it down, is to not to be able to see beyond the proverbial nose. {/quote}

In addition, and as we have previously mentioned, “We Three Wyrd Sisters are just one particular presencing of the O9A’s Labyrinthos Mythologicus…”

The O9A And AtomWaffen – A Summary

O9A Insight Role

The O9A And AWD – A Summary

March 2018: Recent Media stories about the American based National Socialist group AtomWaffen Division (AWD) – implicated in five murders between May 2017 to January 2018 – with evidence emerging that several members of that group are associated with the Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA) has led not only to mention of the O9A in the Media but also to an upsurge of interest in the O9A itself.

In addition there has been an often hostile reaction among many self-described “neo-nazis” to the alleged presence of “satanists” and to the O9A in the modern NS movement, a reaction based almost entirely on a lack of knowledge both of the satanism promulgated by the O9A and of the O9A itself, leading to such self-described “neo-nazis” basically repeating Media propaganda.

In this article we provide a summary of “the story so far” and also outline – from our perspective – the nature of the satanism promulgated by the O9A and the nature of the O9A itself, contra Media propaganda.

From all the reportage of the AWD and the O9A over the past few months we have selected the three that have not only generated the most interest but also been quoted or mentioned or paraphrased in many subsequent reports.

§ The most balanced (unbiased) and factual item was by the US-based, and anti-fascist, Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), published on their Hatewatch blog on February 22, 2018 under the headline Atomwaffen and the SIEGE parallax: how one neo-Nazi’s life’s work is fueling a younger generation.

In the long report, the O9A merited only a few paragraphs:
               “In online neo-Nazi circles, satanic texts are providing the most fodder for debate. Many are unsure and others angry about what Atomwaffen now represents.                Two of the three texts in question are The Devil’s Notebook by Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan, and Hostia: Secret Teachings of the Order of Nine Angles (O9A), a three-volume collection of manuscripts penned by O9A members. They comprise codices of O9A’s beliefs and practices.
               Decades ago, the O9A allegedly came under the control of infamous British neo-Nazi David Myatt, who converted to radical Islam, but renounced his conversion eight years later and returned to esoteric spirituality. The group holds an important position in the niche, international nexus of occult, esoteric, and/or satanic neo-Nazi groups.
               The third book is Iron Gates, written by a member of the U.S.-based Tempel ov Blood, a sub-sect of O9A describing itself as a hybrid between a traditional satanic coven and a (religious) militant order.”

The information is accurate, and also balanced in that the larger context – for example, the book Siege by James Mason – is allotted more space than the O9A with the SPLC correctly prefixing the rumour associating Myatt with the O9A with “allegedly.”

§ The second item was a two-part article on the ProPublica on-line news-site by Ali Winston and Jake Hanrahan, with the first part published on January 26, and the second part on February 23. The articles concentrated, newspaper-fashion, on the deeds and views of individuals, with the alleged link between AWD and the O9A not mentioned.

However, one of the authors – Hanrahan – subsequently mentioned the O9A in connection with AWD via the Twitter social media platform, writing that the “O9A is a strange satanic-fascist umbrella for anyone who follows their brutal ideology. It began in England in the 70s & is believed to have been a brain child of former neo-Nazi turned former jihadist, David Myatt (which he denies).”

§ The third item, by Kelly Weill, was published on The Daily Beast, an on-line American news and opinion outlet, on March 22, 2018 under the headline Satanism Drama Is Tearing Apart the Murderous Neo-Nazi Group Atomwaffen.

The article was devoted to the O9A and to the reaction of some self-described neo-nazis and purported AWD members to the news of the association between the O9A and AWD. She wrote:
               “Atomwaffen is an extremist group that received national attention after being implicated in five murders from May 2017 to January 2018. But even before the most recent slaying, Atomwaffen was under fire from others on the far right who claimed the group was actually a mouthpiece for the Order of Nine Angles, a satanic group that encourages members to infiltrate extremist political movements, whose members might be susceptible to conversion.
               It doesn’t help that, until recently, Atomwaffen pushed the satanic group’s literature on one of its websites.
               The satanist group requires members to spend six months either hitchhiking, working as a burglar, working as a police officer, or infiltrating an extremist political group—a group like Atomwaffen.”

In contrast to the more factual SPLC report, and academic studies {1}{2}{3}, the O9A is described in the Weill article in typical journalistic-style – weasel-words, derogatory, no sources – as “a fringe occultist group”.

In addition, the author blandly repeated the canard that O9A members are “called Noctulians” thus revealing a lack of knowledge about the O9A. Basic research would have revealed that the term Noctulian refers to a pre-O9A Fenland/Cantabrigian pagan tradition {4}.

The Satanism Of The O9A

As quoted in our compilation titled The Order of Nine Angles And National Socialism,
               “The O9A understand the term satan as referring to some human being or beings who ‘diabolically’ plot or who scheme against or who are ‘diabolically’ opposed to those who consider themselves as ‘chosen’ by their monotheistic God.” {5}

Therefore, according to the O9A, a satanist is someone who is heretically opposed to those who believe they are God’s “chosen people,” with such opposition to such people (and their ideas) also of course being a central tenet of both German National Socialism and post-WWII manifestations of National Socialism. Thus it is indicative and amusing that so many self-described “neo-nazis” who pontificate about the O9A do not appreciate or just do not know about this link between the O9A and National Socialism.

O9A satanism is therefore the opposite of – contradictory to – (i) the accepted Media, Nazarene-derived, version of ‘satanism’, and to (ii) the so-called ‘satanism’ propagated by Howard Stanton Levey (aka Anton LaVey) which is basically egoistic materialism with ‘satan’ as a symbol of selfish indulgence.

               “The Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA) is a sinisterly-numinous mystic tradition: it is not now and never was either strictly satanist or strictly Left Hand Path, but uses ‘satanism’ and the LHP as ‘causal forms’; that is, as techniques/experiences/ordeals/challenges (amoral and otherwise) in a decades-long personal anados (quest) to engender in the initiate both esoteric, and exoteric, pathei mathos, and which pathei mathos is the beginning of wisdom.
               The extreme type of ‘satanism’ advocated by the O9A is – for O9A initiates – only one part of the ‘sinister’ aspect of the sinisterly-numinous tradition: a necessary and novitiate pathei-mathos, a modern ‘rite of passage’ […] Being O9A – belonging to the O9A – means both (a) using O9A esoteric philosophy, and one or more of its praxises, as guides to achieve that personal enantiodromia, and (b) accepting and living according to the O9A logos, since that logos is the unique perceiveration which differentiates the O9A from other occult groups past and present, and which logos presences the essence, the ethos, of the O9A […]
               The O9A logos is manifest exoterically in the O9A code of kindred honour. For that code embodies – as living by that code can cultivate in the individual – both a pagan understanding/gnosis and the necessary O9A character.” {6}

The Principle Of The Authority Of Individual Judgment

We – identifying as O9A and as an independent nexion applying the esoteric philosophy of the O9A including its code of kindred honour – interpret that philosophy as anti-Magian in essence and pro-NationalSocialist and fascist in exoteric practice and as required by the O9A’s Sinister Dialectic.

Our view – as supporters of our Western culture – is that a resurgent National Socialism, or a resurgent fascism, or something politically similar, embodies what is necessary to bring down the Old Order from whose ruins a New Order will emerge.

However, others identifying with or associating themselves with the O9A do not share this interpretation. Some interpret that esoteric philosophy as anarchistic; others as nihilistic; others as elitist in a cultured and aristocratic way.

As noted in the text Aristocracy, Anarchy, or Nihilism? The Continuing Internal O9A Debate,
               “One of the many interesting things about the Order of Nine Angles is the diversity of opinion and interpretation among those who associate themselves with the O9A or who follow or who are inspired by the esoteric philosophy of Anton Long […]
               Such a diversity of opinion and interpretation of matters O9A is natural and necessary [for] the O9A, from its beginnings, has – via its praxises and its principle of individual judgement – encouraged every O9A person, nexion, group, or cell, to develop their own interpretation of everything O9A.” {7}

{1} “The ONA has produced more material on both the practical and theoretical aspects of magic, as well as more ideological texts on Satanism and the Left-Hand Path in general, than larger groups such as the Church of Satan and the Temple of Set has produced in combination [which] makes the ONA an important player in the theoretical discussion of what the Left-Hand Path and Satanism is and should be according to the practitioners.” Jacob C. Senholt, The Sinister Tradition, International conference, Satanism in the Modern World, Trondheim, 19-20th of November, 2009

{3} In 2013 Professor Monette estimated that there were “over two thousand ONA associates” – Mysticism in the 21st Century. Sirius Academic Press, 2013. p.89 – with Professor Introvigne writing – Satanism: A Social History. Leiden and Boston: Brill, 2017. p. 359 – that if Monette’s estimate was correct, then the ONA is “the largest Satanist organization in the world.”

{4} See, for example, the 2013 O9A text Authority, Learning, and Culture, In The Sinister Tradition Of The Order of Nine Angles from which this is a quote:
               “The O9A, as it now is and as it has been during the past four decades, is the accumulated occult pathei-mathos of Anton Long and of those whose ancient pagan, hermetic, and satanic, traditions (Camlad, Noctulians, Temple of the Sun) he inherited and/or personally studied and learned from […]
               A lot of the ancestral pathei-mathos Anton Long inherited he expressed in the five fictional stories that form the Deofel Quintet. For instance, both The Giving and Breaking The Silence Down express something of the ancient Rounwytha tradition. The Falcifer story expresses elements of the Temple of the Sun tradition; while The Greyling Owl relates some aspects of the Fenland/Cantabrigian Noctulian tradition. In the novel The Temple of Satan all three traditions make an appearance.”
